Broadband, 2G Internet partially restored in Jammu and Kashmir 

The home department said additional 400 internet kiosks will be established in Kashmir division. The services, would, however, be restored partially. The sources said that the formal announcement in this regard is likely to be made by government spokesman Rohit Kansal. 

A source said that there is every likelihood that authorities may announce restoration of 2G internet services in Jammu region and partial restoration of broadband in the Kashmir region.



Broadband has been started in fundamental services like Hotels, Hospitals, Government Offices.


The fundamental institutes like hotels, hospital, government offices need internet services, for the 7 days government has restored broadband facilities. It'll be better for governments office, hotels and hospital to work effectively.  


Jammu-Kashmir's administration has approved the request of starting 2g and broadband services in Region's five districts on Tuesday. To operate websites like e-banking and other safe sites, 2G internet has been restored on postpaid sim cards In Jammu samba, kathua, Udhampur and reasi districts. This order has been started from 15th January 2020 for the 7 days. Internet connectivity has remained suspended in J&K since August 5 when Union Home Minister Amit Shah moved two Bills in the Rajya Sabha to revoke the special status of J&K under Article 370.




the orders said that establishment of 400 internet kiosks will be directed for service providers to provide ''Broadband Facility'' to all institutes dealing with essential services, hotels, government office, hospital, and Banks.

On the date of 10th SC has ordered to restored internet facility to Kashmir canyon. In last year after removal of section 370, the internet facility has been stopped and Broadband services since October 2019. In Ladakh, Internet facility and broadband have been already started. Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir G. C. Murmu said that after reviewing normal communication channels will be started.
